Life in UK Test for New Residents

You will be learning about British traditions, customs, history, culture and everyday life for your Life in UK test.

Time and Duration

Total duration of the test is 45 minutes

There will be 24 questions on British traditions and customs.

If you score a minimum of 75% marks i.e. if you get 18 correct answers out of 24 questions, you will pass the exam.

You will get the result very soon after the test in your email with  a unique pass code which you will require to submit while applying for your citizenship or settlement application (ILR).

Fees and Center for the test

Fees is 50£ and you need to apply atleast 3 days before the test. You can also change the date for a maximum of three times before 3 days to test.

Accepted forms of ID required for booking this test includes,

  • Valid Evisa with a share code
  • Valid passport
  • Valid ID card from EU, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway
  • Valid travel document with a photo
  • BRP or BRC can be used but your test date must not be later than 18 months after the expiry date printed on the card

Who don’t need to take this test?

You don’t need to take the test if you are

  • Under 18
  • are 65 or over
  • have passed it before
  • have a valid exemption form confirming your physical or mental condition
